What Are The Anti-Impact And Collision Prevention Measures For Water Intake Pump Boats?
2025-10-29
If the pump boat is docked at a reservoir where there are no rapids, no major floods, and the water flow is relatively slow, the requirements for protecting the boat against impact and collision aren’t particularly high under these operating conditions. Nevertheless, our company still adheres to stringent standards by implementing the following measures to further enhance the pump boat’s resistance to both impact and collision.
1. Properly arrange the ship's watertight compartments
This vessel is equipped with a total of 12 independent watertight compartments, ensuring that even if one of these compartments takes on water, the pump boat will remain afloat and continue to provide normal water supply.
2. When designing the hull, our company will install double-layer steel fenders along the top plating of the side shell plates around the vessel. The spacing between the upper and lower fenders is 800 mm, while the spacing between the vertical fenders is 2.5 m. Additionally, an arc-shaped collision-resistant beam will be installed at the bow of the ship.
3. To further enhance the ship’s collision protection function, our company has adopted the practice of suspending anti-collision tires around the vessel’s perimeter, with tires placed at intervals of every 4 meters.
4. Install warning mast lights on the top deck, with lights in three colors: white, green, and red. At night, activate the white incandescent lights to inform passing vessels that there is a barge facility in this area and advise them not to approach or navigate nearby.
Our company implements the above measures to achieve protection against wave impact and collision for pump boats.
